Can NRIs invest in Sovereign Gold Bonds, and what are the requirements for doing so?

Hey @Kuldeep Singh3,

NRI's cannot invest in SGBs as per the RBI guidelines. Instead, they can invest in Gold by purchasing jewelry, coins, bars, ETFs, etc. However, if the individual investor has changed his status from residential to NRI, they may continue to hold SGB until maturity/early redemption.

I hope my answer is clear to you.

No, NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) cannot invest in Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
