Asked a question last year

I read in support page that Fyers is squaring off all open positions in near-month F&O contracts by Monday EOD of that expiry week if client does not maintain equal to or more than contract value of that derivative positiions. Is this can be changed from your RMS side to allow positions till Expiry day or at least one day before Expiry day with 50% contract value ? As I was using Zerodha earlier and they only increase the margin requirement to 40% of the contract value on the expiry day which is very much convenient as exchanges requires only out of VaR + ELM +Adhoc margins. I found only this to be an issue with Fyers to trade in F&O. Rest everything was fine compared to any other broker. Please have a look at this !

Hey @Tamil15,

Short margin penalty will be levied if you don't maintain the contract value of derivatives positions. We have a dedicated Blog 38 on this where we've explained the mechanism of margin penalty. Kindly go through that.

Let us know if you have any doubts.

Hope this helps!
