Introducing FYERS Status: Pioneering uptime transparency

In recent times, challenges of downtime faced by brokers have highlighted the critical need for transparency in the brokerage industry. With the surge of trading activity through the millions of Indians entering into the stock markets, outages have become increasingly common across large trading platforms. It has also led to misinformation which can malign the reputation of brokerages who haven't faced as many issues. To help increase transparency, we've decided to publish a Status Dashboard, first of it's kind tool among Indian brokerages to help traders to track our uptime status across various components of our system. From now onwards, you will get first-hand and near-realtime information from us about any platform outages, resolutions, and scheduled maintenance downtime information. This initiative is our answer to the community's call for transparency, allowing traders to stay updated on the operational status of the FYERS trading platform.

Understanding Downtime Monitoring on FYERS Status

Monitoring the operational status of your trading platforms is crucial for any trader who takes his money seriously. FYERS Status provides a comprehensive overview of all our major services that matter most, ensuring you're always in the know.

Key service components:

  1. Trading - This component tracks the trading functionality, which includes order placement and order management capabilities on the platform. We've further sub-divided this into two separate services;
    (a)Web & Mobile applications.
    (b)API-related trading functionality.

  1. Data - This component helps you track the uptime and outages of market data feeds across trading symbols and segments. We've subdivided data into two parts;
    (a) Real-time data.
    (b) Historical data, which includes intraday historical data, End of Day historical data, and charts across all historical timeframes.

  1. Login - You can identify if there are any login-related issues across various login starting points by tracking this component. We've subdivided the login into two separate headings;
    (a) Web & Mobile applications.
    (b) API logins.
    This will enable you to identify which of the above services is impacted to help you manage situations better.

  2. Exchange Connectivity - This vital component helps you track any connectivity outages related to exchanges. Take note that outages on trading platforms can happen for various reasons related to exchange connectivity. To help you identify such outages if and when they happen across exchanges, we've further divided this segment into 3 sections;
    (a) NSE
    (b) BSE
    (c) MCX

Visualizing Uptime and Downtime with Incident History

The dashboard, as showcased above, provides an intuitive visual representation of our platforms' uptime. A green bar signifies a day with 100% uptime, reflecting a smooth and uninterrupted service. We offer a 90 day history of all historical incidences that have occurred across the various critical components that impact trading.

Identifying Outages

Should there be any deviation from the norm, represented by pale green or bright yellow bars, it indicates partial and- major outages, respectively. This color-coded system allows for quick identification of service disruptions, ensuring transparency and immediate awareness.

Detailed Outage Insights

By hovering your cursor over a specific day, you'll uncover the nature and duration of any outage. For a deeper understanding, a click on the issue description will redirect you to a detailed page, highlighting the causes and nature of the issue. This feature ensures that you're not just informed about the outages but also understand their context and impact.

Accessing Historical Uptime:

To access service uptime and downtime records since June 2023, simply select "View Historical Uptime" for comprehensive incident history.
